Patricia Alfonso Ruzicka

Patricia Alfonso Ruzicka, 74, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in her home on November 23, 2025. Patricia, lovingly known as Patty, was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. She graduated from high school in Pueblo in 1969 and later continued her education with great dedication, earning her bachelor’s degree in Human and Social Services Administration from Bellevue University in 1999, graduating with an impressive 3.88 GPA. Patty devoted much of her life to caring for others. She had a special love for children and spent many years working in early childhood development. Her gentle spirit, creativity, and patience touched countless lives. A gifted artist, Patty enjoyed painting and drawing, and she often expressed herself through her artwork. She found joy in crafts, puzzles, and book clubs. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her husband, Jim, and delighted in every visit, call, and conversation with her children and grandchildren. Patty’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her deep love for the Lord shaped her character, guided her actions, and inspired those around her. She encouraged her family to cultivate their own relationships with God, and her unwavering devotion remains a lasting influence. Known for her enormous heart, Patty treated everyone with grace, respect, and kindness. Her warmth, compassion, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Patty was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Ann Alfonso, and her niece, Karen Miller. Patty is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; her children, stepchildren, and their spouses: Amber and Manny Marez, Michael and Chrisy Strubel, Dustin Ruzicka, and Jamie and Brian Bomberger. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Carolyn and Robert Miller, and David and Diane Alfonso. Her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kaden, Ashton, Isabel, Sam, Derrick, Echo, Hunter, Hailey, Landon, Stetson, and Aspen—will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts. Patty’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to shine through the many lives she touched. Patty had many bible verses that touched her, one verse in particular is PSALM 37 verses 23- 24. It reads “Those whose steps are guided by the Lord, whose way God approves, may stumble, but they will never fall, for the Lord holds their hand. A viewing for Patty will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Patty’s Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church at 9:30 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Roselawn Cemetery.
