Loraine Rose

Loraine Rose, age 94, passed away on August 1, 2026, after a brief illness. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, love, humor, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Born on May 6, 2032, Loraine spent her childhood on a small farm in Washburn, Missouri during the Great Depression. From a young age she worked alongside her mother, helping prepare hearty meals for the farm hands outside on a wood-burning stove. Some of Loraine’s favorite stories reflected both the hardships and humor of those early years. She would laugh when she recalled the time she got in trouble for cleaning out the refrigerator with kerosene. Water was scarce on the farm, and milk was the family’s primary beverage. She joked that she never developed a taste for water because she grew up drinking milk instead. Loraine’s life was marked by deep love as well as profound loss. She was fortunate to find true love twice, but heartbreakingly, both of her beloved husbands passed away far too soon. Though she often insisted throughout her life that she “wasn’t a strong person”, those who knew her understood otherwise. Despite tragedies, she continued to move through life with grace, determination, and an enduring love for her family. Those who knew Loraine will remember her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and a lifelong sense of whimsy. While she may have doubted her own strength, her life told a different story – one of courage, sacrifice, resilience, and unconditional love. Loraine’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her stories, laughter, and steadfast example will continue to inspire. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents, Ross (E.W.) and Bonnie Walden Kemp; her sister, Rosa Kemper (Charles); her husbands, Ray Duran and Frank Rose; daughter, Deanna Sue Parker; granddaughter, CharlieAnn Parker. She is survived by her sons, Steven Duran (Bonnie), Michael Rose, Patrick Rose (Heather); her grandchildren, Megan Duran, Steven J. Duran, Emily Laessle (Bryan), Sam Rose, and Sean Rose; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Colton Parker, Logan Parker, Jon Hess, Harry Hess, Ayden Laessle, and Brayden Laessle. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply. A memorial service celebrating Loraine’s life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Chapel, with inurnment to follow
