KC Alvestad

KC Alvestad,39 Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his Pueblo home on February 21,2021. KC was born June 8,1981 in Sacramento, CA to Caren Alvestad of Staten Island, NY. He spent his early years growing up in the mountains of California, with his sister Kaja, developing his love for outdoor activities. After his move from California to New Mexico KC struggled to adapt to his new surroundings and 20 years ago once the opportunity presented itself he made the move to Colorado and never looked back. He would always say that Pueblo was his home and had no desire to leave. In 2009 KC met Shanee, and wasted no time in purposing marriage; 14 months later they were married. The newly weds purchased their first home together and that is where they spent the next 10 years together. In 2013 KC began attending Pueblo Community College for Machining Technology. While there he found a love for jewelry design and production and practiced his craft and his love for welding. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Associates Degree in 2016. For those who knew KC he always had a desire to learn all he could about anything and everything; he was a bottomless well of knowledge; he was a man of doing and someone who wasn't afraid to learn something new even if it meant teaching himself. He had countless hobbies and talents from painting to metalwork and from cooking to camping. He loved to create, to build something with his hands, and loved to see the joy in others reactions for his talents. Over the past few years he was honing his craft of leatherwork and all of its' versatility; it allowed him to design, draw, paint and sculpt which produced beautiful work. An avid lover of all things Toyota KC's vehicle of choice was an old beat-up Toyota pick truck from the 80's, he loved his Toyotas and was not afraid to display that badge of loyalty or promote it. KC's greatest enjoyments in life were spending time with his wife Shanee and dog Alice; enjoying time at the family cabin on the weekends where he would spend his days fly fishing to return in the evening to drink a beer and relax. Fly Fishing was KC's greatest joy in life and often referred to it as "church" for his body and his mind; it is where he found solace and peace and was a way for him to lose himself in nature. He joined the local fishing club where he would donate his time to trash clean-ups, fly-tying workshops and where he enjoyed competing in fly fishing competitions. KC had a different perspective on life than anyone you will ever meet, his beaming personality and unforgettable smile will never fade from our memories. Be at peace KC your long battle is over, you are free from the constraints of this life and can chase those bubbling streams wherever they may lead you. Cremation has taken place at Roselawn Crematory. Memorial Service to take place at Romero Family Funeral Home on March 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Celebration of Life will follow at Steel City Eagles Club.
