Karolyn Marie Christensen

Karolyn Marie Christensen received her angel wings surrounded by family, February 1, 2023. She leaves behind to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 43 years James, son Christopher, Nicole, two beautiful grandkids Emily and Matthew whom she loved from here to eternity. Sister-in-laws Theresa, Margaret (Robert), Carol, Velma, special nephew John, niece Katharine, and many other family, and friends. Karolyn was born August 9, 1956, to John C and Emily E. Sabec who preceded her in death along with her brother John, her grandparents Joe and Mary and her in-laws Roy and Grace Christensen, brother-in-law Martin, Robert Dana, and James Gerler, Karolyn was a devoted Catholic, wife, mother and the best B-Ma ever, she loved to have a houseful of family and friends for Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She especially enjoyed her trips with family to The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. She enjoyed going to Balloon Museum Family Day to watch balloons launch, and help them land (O Ok but where), After getting a breakfast burrito with hash browns. Karolyn favorite thing to do was going to San Felipe de Neri Church, going through all the different shops and restaurants. She would purchases jeweler from the Native Americans. She was proud to have meet the Navajo Code Talkers in The Plaza, Special memories were made at The Albuquerque Zoo, with Emily and Matthew. She also enjoyed visiting locals at the Indian Reservations. Karolyn got the biggest kick get her picture taken in front of Walter White’s home and Saul Goodman’s office from the show Breaking Bad. Some of Karolyn’s favorite restaurants were The Fly Star, La Placite, La Hacienda, Range Cafe, and The Church Cafe. She enjoyed a great time with the family at Sadie’s Resturant with the Mariachi Band. She enjoyed her trip to South Dakota, site seeing Mt Rushmore, the monument of Crazy Horse, and eating at her special restaurant, were the bacon is still moving. Her special places in Colorado were Garden of the Gods, staying at The Broadmoor, and going to TSO Concert every year. Karolyn loved donating to Christ the King Church, Los Pobres (Sister Nancy), Catholic Charities, St Jude, Care and Share Food Bank, Tunnel to Tower Foundation, Shield 616, National Kinney Foundation, and Pilot Dogs Guide Dog School. She also loved buying food, clothes, school supplies and toys for St Bonaventure Indian Mission and School, and St. Joseph’s Indian School to name just a few. She attended St Lender School, Seton, East High, class of 74.Then graduating from CSU-Pueblo with a BS in Child Psychology. Karol help manage her family’s business, Sabec Meat Market, while attending college. After college Karol went on to manager the office at Tempo Store. After starting family she became a stay at home mom with Chris. Karolyn was known on the block as the neighborhood mom. She then went on to managed the family businesses, C and C Concrete, and Rocky Mountain Windows and Exteriors. We shared a lifetime, even as short as it was of beautiful memories to treasure as we think of her as she is gone from our daily lives but forever alive in our hearts and minds as we look forward to being reunited with her in heaven.
