Joseph "Joe" Sam Geonetta

Joseph (Joe) Sam Geonetta, loving and dedicated father passed peacefully at home gaining his angel’s wings on August 22, 2022. Joe was born in Los Angeles, CA on February 16, 1934, to the late Sam and Esther Geonetta. He graduated from Centennial High School, Pueblo, CO and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Airforce on March 20, 1953, as a Radio Traffic Interceptor stationed at Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX and was Honorably discharged on March 19, 1957. He earned numerous awards and decorations to include the National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. He ultimately settled in Pueblo, CO and retired from Pepsi Cola. Joe spent a year and a half of his enlistment at Clark AFB, Philippines where he met and married the love of his life Milagros (Mila) Francisco Geonetta. They made a life in the Philippines and lived there for over 20 years. They were extremely active and became a vital team in the local community. They were married for 67 years and established a life of happiness, bringing into this world seven children, his late sons Samuel James Geonetta and Joseph Anthony Geonetta Jr., daughters Mary Joann and husband Johnny Morgan, Rosemarie Esther Wellesley and special friend Edmond Bautista, and Barbara Jane Geonetta, sons Charles (Chuck) Geonetta and partner Deise Gahan, and Robert Geonetta and wife Natalie. He also leaves to cherish his loving memories with his 12 grandchildren, Myleen, Michael (Mike), Brian, Christopher, Anthony, Ryan, Chantel, Daniel (DJ), Krystal, Robert, Tatiana, and Jordan along with 18 great grandchildren. Joe held many prominent work positions but his most important and rewarding one was being a great husband and father. He was truly a great man who always provided the greatest support, guidance, and advice. He lived a simple, modest life and worked hard to provide for his immediate and extended families. He was the epitome of how one should live their lives and provide support and unconditional love for his family. He was a gift from God, and we will all miss him dearly. Let us take some comfort in knowing that he is home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his parents Sam and Esther Geonetta and his sons Joe Jr. and Sam Geonetta. No more pain, no more suffering!
