Helen C. Saldana

Helen C. Saldana, 70, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, nina and friend entered eternal life with her daughter Tania Bailey by her side on August 13, 2024. Helen was born on May 23, 1954 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was welcomed into heaven to receive her wings by her maternal grandparents, Anastacio and Bascilia Saldana; Mother, Carmen M. Reyes; Sister, Linda Saldana; Brothers, Michael Roque Saldana -wife Pam and Son, Jazz, Andrew J. Reyes; Brother-in-law Frederick L. Kidd; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, a large and loving family. Helen is survived by her husband, Antonio Chavez; 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; Stepfather, Jose R. Reyes; Sisters, Denise L. Kidd, Gloria J. Reyes (L’Mont Brooks), Geraldine Quintana (Jeffrey); Brothers, James A. Saldana and Steve Reyes. Helen is also survived by a large extended family which includes numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends. Helen had a strong love of family which was so important to her. She loved all her family members. She would absolutely do anything to help when and if needed and loved spending time with family either talking on the phone, having visitors over to her home or listening to Mexican music on her porch. She loved to dance to cumbias. She loved and adored her pup “lady” whom has been adopted by sis Gloria. She loved the great outdoors, being in the mountains, fishing and traveling. She took pride in her appearance, wore beautiful rings and necklaces which she cherished. She had the most beautiful, manicured fingernails which her sisters and friends envied. She loved juicy gossip and enjoyed watching her novellas, westerns, game shows and trips to Blackhawk. She also had a strong work ethic. She studied hard to become an LPN and worked for many years at a rehabilitation facility. She changed careers and worked in the industry field until she was no longer able to do so. Gone forever is her warm loving smile, her great sense of humor and her infectious laugh. “Thither” will never be forgotten as she will always remain in our hearts. We love you; we miss you so much already and we are honored as a family to be a part of your going home journey. God in his infinite wisdom, has plucked one of the most “beautiful flowers” from his worldly garden. May you rest in peace. There will be no viewing. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Praise Church Campus. The family warmly invites guests for a fellowship meal to be held directly after the memorial service in the Praise Church Hall.
