Dr Eustice Zacher

Dr. Eustice Zacher aka Dr. Evstati Zachariev, passed away at his home in Pueblo, Colorado on July 26, 2017. He was born at home in Sofia, Bulgaria on October 14, 1943. The world was at war and the city was being bombed when his mother gave birth. His father, also a physician, saw patients during the day at the family home in the center of the city and made house calls in the evening. During his childhood Dr. Zacher spent his holidays and summers in a village near Sofia with his two Aunts. He attended school in Sofia through high school, served in the Bulgarian army for two years and then went to Romania where he attended medical school. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Evstati Zachariev and mother Ivanka Zachariev. Leaving to cherish his memories are his children Eustice Simeon Zacher, Ivana Marie Zacher and the mother of his children LeAnn Marie Zacher and his sister Dr. Vichra Grabner of Vienna, Austria. His children were the loves of his life. When his son Eustice was born he retired from medicine to raise his family. A year later he traveled half way around the world to his home country of Bulgaria to adopt his beautiful daughter Ivana. He was hoping to be here on his birthday this year to welcome his grandson Giovanni De Angelis Simeon Niccoli, with his son in law Noah Niccoli. Dr. Zacher’s sister, Dr. Vichra Grabner of Vienna, Austria will also miss him dearly. The happiest times of his life were spent with his family and friends at his ranch in the Wet Mountains of Colorado. Hunting and fishing and his love of nature were passions he shared with his children. Traveling with his family also brought him great joy. One of his most cherished moments was when he was able to attend his son’s graduation from Pueblo County High School on May 27th, 2017. He also cherished his close friend Dave Aldritt, who no matter the circumstances, would take time out of every day to check on Eustice and help him when needed. Viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, July 31 with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Roselawn Mortuary Chapel. A reception and light lunch will follow afterwards at Wesley United Methodist Church, 85 Stanford Avenue, Pueblo, Colorado.
