Carolyn Ann Kovacich

Carolyn Ann Kovacich (75) lost her, lengthy and courageous battle with dementia on December 3, 2025. Carol was born December 30, 1949, in Florence, Colorado to the union of George and Josephine (Vendetti) Steffy The family moved to Pueblo when Carol was in grade school where she attended St. Joseph Catholic school and eventually met her future husband and love of her life, Frank Kovacich. Carol and Frank were married at St. Joseph church on September 10, 1966, and spent the next 59 years together raising and enjoying their children and grandchildren and experiencing their many adventures. Carol and Frank were blessed with four children, Frank Jr. Michelle (Shelley), Sheri, and Lisa. Carol spent many years as a 4-H leader helping her children raise and show livestock at county fairs, the Colorado State Fair as well as many other state and local fairs. She became involved in raising dairy goats and had several National Champion dairy goats. She and Frank traveled around the country showing her goats and making a name for herself in the dairy goat community, locally and nationally. She loved and was devoted to her family and her animals, especially her current pups; Australian shepherds, Annie, Niki, and Sadie. Carol always worked hard and put her all into everything she did. She spent most of her married life as a homemaker and eventually entered the work force as a teller at Decibel Credit Union (now ENT). She worked her way up to head teller and eventually head computer specialist before she and Frank bought Waugh Mountain Ranch in 1995 in the mountains of Fremont County where they raised Hereford and angus cattle, quarter horses, and border collies. Carol was preceded in death by her son, Frank Jr. her parents and other extended family. She is survived by daughters, Shelley Kovacich Lewis, Sheri Kovacich Peter, and Lisa Kovacich all of Pueblo; seven grandchildren: Kelsi Brown, Richard Lewis, Nicholas Lewis, Kodi Kovacich, Shayla Peter, Savannah Peter, and Sheldon Peter. Four great grandchildren; Calvin Lewis, Declan Brown, Gracelyn Miller, and Stetson Miller.
