Rama Mary Guillen

Rama Mary Guillen, affectionately known as “Boots”, 95 was born July 31, 1928 and went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, and the love of her life, Robert Claude Guillen; son, Ronald Guillen; parents, Carpio and Emiliana Gallegos; and numerous brothers and sisters. Rama is survived by her loving daughter, Bernadette Guillen; adoring grandchildren, Ron (Melissa) Guillen, Robert Martinez, Ryan Guillen, Royce (Angela) Martinez, Rebecca Guillen, and Randon Martinez; precious great-grandchildren, Dylan Moran-Valdez, Connor Guillen, Ella Martinez, Lila Martinez, and Ava Martinez; son-in-law, Gerald Martinez; daughter-in-law, Rose Guillen; special friend, Celia Martinez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Rama enjoyed participating in Craft Shows and the Flea Market, everyone there has fond memories of her. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Her specialties were her tortillas and sopapillas. The family would all gather at her house, and she loved being able to cook and take care of everyone, she was the best hostess in the world. Rama was also very good at making dessert too, her delicious Christmas cookies, and fudge were family favorites. She was an amazing storyteller, and her grandchildren would love to sit and listen to her stories. Rama also had a beautiful singing voice, that not many heard but her husband loved to hear. She loved to go to the mountains and fish with the love of her life and her family, they especially enjoyed their time at Big Meadow Lake. When she was able, she enjoyed her phone calls with her sisters. When it came to being a grandma, Rama was the best. She would help take care of all of her grandchildren, whether that meant taking them to and from school, taking them to a sports practice or game, and she loved every minute of it. She was their biggest advocate no matter what the occasion. There was an extra special place in her heart for her great-grandchildren and she loved that they all called her “Grandma Boots”. Her family will fondly remember her standing at her stove cooking and taking care of everyone she could. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by all of the people who were blessed to know her.
