Matilda Lave Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

In Loving Memory of Matilda (Tillie) Lave September 23, 1934 – August 13, 2021 Matilda graduated from Pueblo Catholic High School in 1953 and later continued her studies with SCSC where she earned her nursing degree. Shortly following, she gained employment with Saint Mary Corwin Hospital where she pursued her nursing career until her retirement in 1982. Tilly’s favorite past time was fishing and she especially loved sharing outdoor activities and adventures with her children and grandchildren. She had a wonderful zest for life and especially embraced the companionship of others and meeting new and diverse people from all walks of life. Tilly cherished her family and friends and she was most often known to be the life of the party with her quick witted humor, jokes and down to earth personality. She was always certain to leave a smile on your face and guarantee an abundance of good laughs while in her presence. Matilda will forever be loved and sadly missed long after her passing by her Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her birth mother Matilda Caro Urenda, her father Jesus Urenda, Julian and Luz Avila (her Great Aunt and Uncle who raised her from birth, her special Aunt Refugio(Cuca) Urenda Ramirez, her late husband Ernest Lave, son Jessie Benjamin ( Benji) Lave and grandson Carlos George Lave. She is survived by her children Ernest Simon (Deanna) Lave, Louis Julian Lave, Anthony Gerard Lave, and Arlene Frances Lave. Special grandchildren Angela Marie (Andy) Lave Owens, Linda Juliet Lave, Julian Ray Lave, Tiffany Simoney (Al ) Lave Martinez, Jose Anthony (Alicia) Martinez, Gabriel Jacob ( Kaylie) Martinez Lave, Desiree Monique (Victor) Lave Martinez, Brianna Lacey (Tyler Ramsey) Lave, John Patrick Lave, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The immediate family will be gathering for a remembrance service on Friday September 3, 2021 at 2300 Oakshire Lane, Pueblo, Colorado. Matilda will be laid to rest at a later date in Roselawn Cemetery.
