JoDean Marie Ranney

July 14, 1949 - May 3, 2022

JoDean (Jody) Marie Ranney (Cox), 72, of Pueblo, Colorado formerly of Cumberland and Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022. Jody was born on July, 14th, 1949 in Wichita Kansas to Leo & Leslie Cox. Jody lived in Chanute Kansas with her parents and Brother Ed until 1964 when the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Graduating from Leeds High School in 1968 She met David K. Ranney in 1969 marrying in January 1970. Jody and David went on to have 4 children. Jennifer Suzanne who has been waiting to meet Jody since her birth and passing in May of 1970. Angela Rae in November of 1973, Amy JoDean in May of 1976 and David Kent Jr. in September of 1979. Jody was an attentive stay at home mom until 1979 when she went to work in the cafeteria at C&M Elementary school until JoDean and David moved their family to Pueblo, Colorado in 1988. Shortly after moving to Pueblo Jody went to work at the Northside Walmart #842 where she worked for 26 years, making many lifelong friends, until 2014 when her and David’s health no longer allowed her to continue to work. Jody enjoyed reading, camping, traveling with David and spending time with her family. Jody’s pride and joys were her children and grandchildren. She loved going to her children’s and grandchildren's activities and school functions. JoDean was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years David K. Ranney, Sr.; parents, Leo & Leslie Cox (Sioux City, Iowa); mother & father-in-law, Cecil & Mildred Ranney (Cumberland, Iowa); daughter, Jennifer Suzanne; Brothers and Sisters in law, Jim & Betty Ranney (Harlan, Iowa), Dale & Mary Lou Ranney (Massena, Iowa). She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Edward & Cindy Cox (Rosemont, MN); and sister-in-law, Sally Baumann (Cumberland, Iowa); Children, Angela (Ken) Vialpando, Amy (Marcus) Garcia, David Jr (Andrea) Ranney, all of Pueblo; grandchildren, Katelynn (GabrielHarris, Megan Richter, Joeleen Vialpando, Kelsey Vialpando, Kolton Vialpando, Adreanna Vialpando, Delaney Garcia, Dylan Ranney and many very special nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 13th, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, reception immediately following at Romero’s Cafe, Pueblo, Colorado
