Joan L. Venuto

June 24, 1936 - November 28, 2019

Joan Lucille Venuto, 83 of Pueblo passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019. Waiting for her in heaven were her parents, Pete and Mary Maurello; her mother and father in-law, Tony and Lucy Venuto; sister, Theresa Aronson; and brother-in-law, John Lane. She leaves behind her loving husband of almost 62 years, Tony; her three children, Nick (Caine) Venuto, Pete (Cindy) Venuto, and Christianne (Sam) DeNardo. She was blessed with five grandchildren who she cherished with all her heart, Kristina Paukune, Kendra and Jenna Venuto, and Samantha and Michael DeNardo. She leaves behind her sister, Margie Lane; three brother-in-laws, Donald and Michael (Janice) Venuto, and Carl (Angelica) Aronson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Joan was born June 24, 1936 in Pueblo, Colorado. She attended Saint Mary Grade School, Pueblo Catholic High School, and graduated SCSC. When her children entered school, she began working at the Government Printing Office where she eventually retired. Throughout her life, she was always a Ray of Sunshine. Her kindness showed as she gave unselfishly to her children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. When she retired, she enjoyed her Broncos, Bingo, crossword puzzles, and playing games with her family. She loved traveling with her family, going to Cripple Creek, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren and passed down to them the tradition of Italian cookie making. She loved laughing with her family and was one of the most thoughtful people. Joan mastered the art of flip phone texting and kept in touch daily with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church and lived a faith filled life. The pain in our hearts will be there until we meet her again in heaven. In memory of our Mom please join us in celebrating her life by wearing bright colors and your bling! A Memorial Mass will be 10:00am, Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Joseph Church. Online condolences can be made at roselawnpueblo.org
