Eva Consinero Knittel

October 22, 1949 - April 20, 2022

Eva Rose (Consinero) Knittel, 72, entered eternal rest peacefully at home in Pueblo, Colorado on April 20, 2022. Survived by loving husband of 32 years, Alan Ross Knittel, stepdaughters Monica (Rich) Kreckle, and Lorrie Humpal, grandchildren Quin Dean, Kodi, Kaleb, and Kalyapi Humpal, sisters Virginia Arduini, Frances (James) Consinero Valdez, nieces and nephews, Marla Jones, Merlin (Sangeetha) Arduini, Paula (Juan) Herraez, and David Arduini, great-nephews Nicholas Jones and Gio Arduini, great-niece Priya Arduini, cousins, family, friends and her “little girl” Zoe. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Virginia Consinero, and brother in law, Merlin Arduini. Eva grew up on Goat Hill and attended Mt. Carmel Grade School. She was a member of the first graduation class from Seton High School in 1967. That same year Eva was selected Miss Future Secretary of 1967 by the Yappa Chapter of FSA. She immediately began working at George McCarthy Funeral Home where she was employed for 25 years as bookkeeper. After her retirement Eva worked briefly as a part time bookkeeper at St. Leander’s and Our Lady of the Meadows’ parishes. Eva was a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. “Aunt Evie” was a devoted second mother to her nieces and nephews and thought of them as her own children. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and football enthusiast. She loved baking, and family and friends looked forward to her Christmas pumpkin rolls and cookies. Eva was the family party planner as well as the life of the party. She was a selfless caregiver who will be greatly missed and never forgotten. The family respectfully requests omission of food and flowers. A Viewing will be held 4:00 to 6:00pm, Thursday, May 5th at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am, Friday, May 6th at Our Lady of the Meadows with interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
