Esther J. Gennetta

November 15, 1925 - November 27, 2021

Pueblo - Esther J. Gennetta, 96, of Pueblo, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 27th, 2021. She was born to Mike and Mary Castellucci on November 15, 1925. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Gennetta; her brothers Ben and Pete Castellucci and granddaughter Jenna Gennetta. She is survived by her sister Clara Berry and brother Gene Castellucci; her children, Ken (Diane) Gennetta, Gary Gennetta; granddaughters: JuliAnna Gennetta, Melissa (Eric Ludwig) Gennetta, Tanisha (Dustin) Stevens, and Dr. Brittany (Ronnie) Romero; 4 great-grandchildren: Brett and Grace (Juli), Shantalle and Travis (Tanisha) and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and relished her time with them. She will be missed deeply. Esther seldom complained and was always grateful. She worked as the first full-time secretary at Mount Carmel Credit Union, and was also employed at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital and Minnequa Bank. Esther loved her work in adoption placements for Catholic Charities and was still in contact with many of her adoption parents and children even after many years. Esther was an educational secretary in School District #60 and retired in 1981. She was voted Colt of the month by the students at South High School in 1969. Esther attended Pueblo Christian Center. The family would like to thank her friends at The Pueblo Regent and her many caregivers. A special thanks to the staff at Sangre De Cristo Hospice, Dr Rendler and Ron at Broadway Pharmacy. Esther loved this poem and requested it be read at her passing: I am home in heaven dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over. Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last. Grieve a while if you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It is only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. There will be a graveside service at Roselawn on December 13, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Esther's memory to Pueblo Christian Center or Sangre De Cristo Hospice. Online condolences can be made at www.roselawnpueblo.org.
