Ann F Scherbak

Ann F. Scherbak went home to her heavenly father on May 28, 2018 (Memorial Day). She was 98 years young and left a legacy of love and tender memories with family and her dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Anna Scherbak; and her seven siblings, Michael, Andrew, Peter, Nick, Helen, Irene and John as well as her lifelong love, John B. Jersin. She was a faithful servant of God and a member of (St. Anthony’s) and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ann was proud of her Slovakian heritage and a member of the Christian’s Women’s Group and Zarja (Slovenian Union of American). She graduated from Central High School in 1938 and attended American Business College. Ann worked for Koperlick & Altman Attorneys at Law and later worked 38 years for Southern Colorado Power Company (now Black Hills Energy). She also served on the supervisory committee and Board of Directors of Mt. Carmel Credit Union – Security Services for 32 years. Ann loved life and people and she was dedicated to helping the poor and needy and was well-respected by those she worked with. A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Help of Christian Church on 307 E. Mesa Avenue with Visitation prior to Celebration. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Ann including Dr. Thomas Gaide and Rachel from Heritage Medical, her personal caregivers, Marie, Rosalie, Louella, Virginia, Annette and Helen and Life Care of Pueblo who respectfully cared for her the last four years of her life.
