Amelia Lopez

August 26, 1947 - March 19, 2022

Amelia Lopez, age 74 passed away peacefully on Saturday March 19th in Mansfield Texas at home surrounded by her loving family. Amelia is joined in heaven by her parents Luis and Mariana Hernandez; siblings Juan, Pedro, Luis Manuel, and Rosa; grandchildren Jessica and Christopher Lopez. She is survived by her daughters Connie (Raymond) Flood, Evangelina (Ricky) Burris and Ruth Ramos; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings Abraham (Ruth) Hernandez, Helen (Daniel) Miranda, David Hernandez, Gloria (Carols) Lausell, Luis (Elba) Hernandez and numerous nieces and nephews. Amelia was born on August 26, 1947 in Carolina Puerto Rico. She grew up in New Jersey until she moved her family to Pueblo, Colorado in 1982. Her greatest love in life was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the truest example of resiliency, sacrifice and perseverance and instilled a deep sense of strength and independence in each of her daughters. Because of her tireless work, love of her family and God she was able to raise her children and become the matriarch for a large extended family. With her family, she shared a love for sports teams especially her beloved Broncos and Rockies & New York Mets. She nourished the souls of all those who knew her with love and her faith in the Lord. Viewing will be Monday, March 28, 2022 at 11-1PM with service to follow at 1 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home.
