Rex Martin Greenhood

Rex Martin Greenhood, born March 29, 1966, peacefully passed away on January 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family after 8 years of a hard-fought battle with kidney cancer. Rex was preceded in death by his best friend/brother-in-law, Kevin Parnell, and many other grandparents and loved ones. Rex is survived by his devoted wife, Lori, and their two children, JT (Alyssa) and Josh (Tené). He was the proud and loving grandfather of four grandsons: Ryker, Remington, Rhett, and Hunter. He also leaves behind his parents, David and Joyce Greenhood and Dave and Betty Salameno; his siblings, Donnie (Meri) Greenhood, Tami (Dennis) Maltbie, Gina (Wayne) Jones, Shane Greenhood; nieces and nephews, Breann (Nathan), Jonathon (Giselle), Katelyn (Joe), McKenna (Damacio), Hana (Oscar), Mason, and Kayla, and countless aunts and uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, dear friends, and colleagues who cherished him deeply. Rex was a dedicated, hard-working man who spent nearly 39 years as a maintenance mechanic at the Target warehouse. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. Rex had a passion for the outdoors, and some of his happiest moments were spent camping, fishing, and hunting. He also found immense joy in watching and coaching his sons and, later in life, his grandsons in their many sports endeavors. Rex was a devoted Bronco fan who could be found cheering on the orange and blue every Sunday. A man of extraordinary kindness and generosity, Rex was the kind of person you could call upon anytime, and he would show up with a smile on his face, ready to help. He loved his wife fiercely for 38 fabulous years, setting a beautiful example of love and devotion. Rex’s legacy is one of hard work, unwavering love, and a life lived fully. He touched countless lives with his patience, kindness, and presence, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rex’s life will be celebrated at Praise Assembly, 2000 Troy Ave, Pueblo, CO 81001 at 10 am, with a reception to follow, where family and friends are invited to share memories and honor the incredible man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a kind gesture or act of service in Rex’s memory, as he would have done for anyone in need. Rest in peace, Rex. Your light, love, and laughter will remain in our hearts forever.
