John Harold Deyne

John Harold Deyne, 67, of Pueblo was born April 11, 1955, and passed away January 12, 2023. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Natividad; parents; sister, Linda; brother, Dennis; and sister, Sharon. John is survived by his son, BJ; grandchildren, Johnathan, Caitlynn, and Maddie Jean; fur baby, Bella; also survived by his siblings, Sandra, Theresa, and Andy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. John grew up in the “Dogpatch” area of Pueblo’s Eastside and was a 1973 graduate of East High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. John was very proud of his service and the time spent with the Navy. While serving in the Philippines, John met and married the love of his life, Natividad on November 29, 1975. When John received an Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces, he and his wife returned to Pueblo where John worked at the CF&I Steel Mill. During that time John and Natividad welcomed their only son, John “BJ”. John found himself riding motorcycles as a fun hobby. Later, the family moved to Denver where John began work in the Hospitality industry as Hotel Manager until his retirement. While serving as Hotel Manager, John built several long lasting friendships with a number of his colleagues and was a very well-respected man and boss. After retirement, although it was a difficult decision, John sold the family home that he was so proud of in Lakewood, Colorado and moved back to Pueblo. John loved to spend time listening to music with his brother Andy and his wife Lori. One of John’s favorite things to do with his brother Andy was go out to eat, anywhere was fine as long as they were able to enjoy their time together. When his grandchildren came, John was an amazing grandpa. He would ride bikes and play with RC cars with Johnathan and Caitlynn, and they would have non-stop fun and games. When Maddie Jean came into his life, he had the best breakfast buddy, and every day for the last year, they would have a fried egg and talk about their day. John also loved to spend time with his son BJ. He we would especially love their annual green chili roast and peel every season to prepare for the year. At the time of his wife’s passing, John was placed and received a kidney transplant. Although the operation was a success, the loss of his beloved seemed to be harder to bear than his failing health. John’s family was very close and pulled together during the family’s difficult time, but none more than his Bella. Bella helped him even more when he lost his wife. She was truly man’s best friend. John will be forever loved and deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
