In Loving Memory of Jean Marie (Miller) Kiddie With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Marie (Miller) Kiddie, who left us on May 22, 2024, at the age of 76 in Pueblo, Colorado. Born on March 23, 1948, in Waterville, Minnesota, Jean cherished her childhood growing up on a farm. She often shared stories of her adventures and close-knit family, which laid the foundation for her love of travel and friendships. Jean attended the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University in St. Joseph, MN. During her college years, she forged many lifelong friendships, embraced the Bennie life, and later met the love of her life, Erland “Earl” D. Kiddie, Jr. Their shared love for adventure and community marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together. After graduating, Jean embarked on a fulfilling career as a teacher, inspiring countless students across Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, Montana, and Minnesota. While she was serious about education, her classrooms were often filled with laughter, fun and always something interesting. Jean had an amazing ability to make any subject enjoyable and was known for her engaging reading sessions. Her dedication to education and her students left a lasting impact on many lives. Jean's Irish spirit and quick wit were evident in her vibrant personality. She had a unique sense of humor and was always a beacon of positivity, even in the most difficult times. She was truly an inspiration to many. A devoted Catholic and active member of many parishes over the years. Jean's home was a sanctuary of warmth and generosity. She was known for taking in those who had nowhere else to go, making them part of her family. Her selflessness and open heart were evident in her every action, always thinking of others before herself. Jean and Earl shared 49 wonderful years together, filled with various adventures, breakfasts with friends, dinners with family, cozy evenings watching TV, and an open door for anyone in need. Her children, Matthew and Megan, along with her son-in-law Anthony Class and grandchildren Samantha and Natalie Class, were the center of her world. Jean always made family gatherings special, with her infectious laughter and stories bringing everyone together. Her amazing chocolate chip cookies, meatloaf, and pot roast were legendary and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. In retirement, Jean found joy in working at the local theater, treating family and friends to movies. She enjoyed a wide variety of films and never passed up a good comedy. Those closest to her knew of her talent for playing the guitar and songwriting. She loved a good crossword puzzle, gardening, and providing an amazing home for many animals over the years. Jean was a loving sister to Mary Ellen and a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Ellen (Coughlin) Miller; daughter, Carolyn; sister, Joyce (Miller); and brother-in-law, Ken Kloubec; brother-in-law, David Hadad, Sr.; brother, Charles; sister-in-law, Marie (Cuzzetto) Miller; and nephew, Charlie Miller. In memory of Jean, we ask that you consider donating to a charity of your choice. Jean believed deeply in giving back and helping those in need. We will celebrate Jean's life at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 2827 Lakeview Ave, Pueblo, CO 81005. A burial will follow at a later date at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff of Gentiva and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care. Jean's kindness, laughter, and love of life will forever be remembered. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of joy and generosity.
