Jacqueline Adele Darras Her smile now spreads entirely across her face. Both sides! She struts with a straight back that she hasn't seen in years. Nothing hurts. Nothing leaks. Nothing droops. Nothing needs chemo. Jesus Christ pulled up to St. Mary Corwin Hospital in a 1960 Ford Fairlane and greeted Jackie with a warm embrace and an eternal smile. “You finally made it! We expected you YEARS ago!” She apologized, saying, “I was in a car wreck, and my cancer was discovered during my medical examination. Treatment and medication gave me a lot more time to spend with my family, but I am finally ready to go Home.” And off they went. Being on the list of her favorite things to do, He let her sleep in the back window on her way to Paradise. Moons, planets, stars, and a nebula or two flew by. Best. road-trip. ever. Jesus woke her up after a while and said that He had something special for her to see before they went on. It was real. THE Rainbow Bridge. She barely had a millisecond to process that thought when she was attacked by a pack of Dobermann Pinschers! (maybe “attacked” isn't the right word) She went down laughing and smiling. Sheena, Cassie, and Katy were followed by a parade of other animals: Poppy, Lefty, Sugar, Charlie, Gigi, Cada, Barney, Gummo, and Tilly the milk cow. Even Pepper and Funny Bunny and Echo and Boxie were there, and probably a few more, but there were NO roosters in attendance. Some of the pet friends chose to continue waiting, while most followed her across as Jesus took her arm in His and led her through the Pearly Gates of Paradise. She was then joyfully reunited with her Daddy, and Momma who cooked chicken fried steak for her birthday, even though it was a few days early. There was to be no waiting for *the* CFS. The absolute greatest reunion party EVER lasted until dawn, with gratuitous amounts of dancing and group Karaoke. Then, she heard the angels sing, and she praised and praised and PRAISED Jesus. Sunday March 17, 2024 at 5:37 pm mountain time, Jacqueline Adele Theresa (Lea) Darras (3/20/1950) passed as loved ones surrounded her. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry Ray Darras; and their daughters, with their husbands, LaRae and Mark Gallant, and Nikki and Mike Hill; and her amazingly talented, smart, and good looking grandchildren, Dalton Gage, Mikey, and Maggie. Do not send flowers, please plant a tree in her memory.
