Geraldine "Gerie" Marie Piserchio

Geraldine “Gerie” Marie Piserchio age 93, passed away in her home on January 20, 2023. She was born in Cripple Creek, CO on July 30, 1929, to parents, Inez and Leslie Beery, where she resided along with her seven siblings until moving to Pueblo at age 12. She graduated from Centennial HS in 1947 and worked at the telephone company as a switchboard operator until marrying Thomas James Piserchio on January 13, 1951. She was his loving wife until his death in June 1985. She was a wonderful mom and very devoted to her seven children, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. While raising a large family, she managed a 25+ year career earning a reputation of high standing in the mortgage lending/title insurance community. She remained sharp-witted and had the memory and good humor of a teenager until her passing. Her main passion in life was the wellbeing of her children and she took enormous pride in each of them. Reading was her 2nd passion and it was not unlike her to devour up to 13 books a week. Sadly, her eyesight failed the last couple of years, and she lost the ability to read, craft, needlepoint and sew. She enjoyed watching golf, word games/puzzles, and cooking (her cinnamon rolls were legendary). She is survived by her children, Tom Piserchio (Donna), Paula Lucey (Charlie), Pam Hollis (Paul), Patty Clementi (Sam), Nancy Bruce (Bret), Mary Piserchio (Jeff) and Les Piserchio (Jo Ann); all grand and great grandchildren, her dear sister, Helen Dwier; caring brother, Fred Beery; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Vivian Beery; nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Ardyth Decker; brothers, Arthur, Leslie, Larry (Margaret) and Donald Beery; parent-in-laws, Thomas and Louise Piserchio, and sisterin-law, Carol Servo. Special thanks to Gerie’s dedicated caregivers, Terry Dowdell, Cyndra Shisler; her staff at Senior Care Anywhere and Sangre de Cristo Hospice. Gerie will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Gerie’s name to Sangre de Cristo Hospice or your favorite charity. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 3rd, at Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church, 23 Starling Dr., Pueblo, CO with burial immediately following at Roselawn Cemetery, 1706 Roselawn Rd., Pueblo, CO.
