Fred James Stuart

In loving memory of Fred James Stuart who passed away at home on Sept. 25, 2022, at the age of 87 years old. Fred was born in Garfield, Wash., on July 25, 1935 to George and Lizzie Belle Stuart. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Connie; son, Frank Stuart; daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Vincent; former daughter-in-law, Lynne (Steve) Huskins; grandchildren, Danielle Dunfee, Francesca Stuart (Chris), Ashley (Tyler) Yates, Tyler Stuart, Zachary (Estefania) Stuart; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Tavian, Jaidyn, Jameson, Kylie, Emerson, Josie, Takoda and Aspen; sisters-in-law, Darla (Don) Mccoy, MaryAnn (Russell) Boice. Fred was a devout Catholic and had a special relationship with the Blessed Mother Mary. He prayed the Rosary daily. Fred spent many years serving as an usher and Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as serving on many church committees. Fred was a masterful teacher for Pueblo School District 60 where he taught for 30 years both in elementary and middle school math. He was still solving quadratic equations for fun. Fred held a bachelor and master's degree in education from Adams State College. Quite often adults in the community would approach him years after he had taught them in school and tell him that he was their favorite teacher. After retirement he enjoyed extensive travel with his wife Connie. The two became inseparable, Fred was extremely devoted to his wife Connie. Fred was known as the "Greatest Grandpa Ever" by his five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. There was literally nothing that he would not do for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made sure to attend as many activities and events that any of them were involved in. Fred was loved extensively by them and he felt that love every day. Fred loved playing sports and watching them. He spent hours watching them with his son Frank and his son-in-law Mark. Fred was a voice of reason for his daughter Cheryl when it came to educational topics. Fred lived life to the fullest. Please wear bright clothing to the funeral as Fred loved bright colors! Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Roselawn Funeral Home
