Floyd Stephen "Skip" Robino

Floyd Stephen Robino, affectionately known as Skip or Skippy, was born to the union of Joseph and Ruth Robino on February 28, 1952, in Walsenburg, CO. Skip passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Colorado Springs surrounded by family. He was the youngest of four siblings, who all grew up in LaVeta, CO. Skip graduated high school in LaVeta, Class of 1970. He joined the US Navy and settled in Pueblo after his service. He worked and retired from the Pueblo West Metro District, Supervisor of Roads where he worked for over 30 years. He is preceded in death by parents; sister, Mary Louise; brothers, Albert (Donna) and Paul “Pokey” (Patti) Robino; great-nephew Blake Kouri; niece, Robyn Melissa Krupp; in-laws, Darrell Sr. and Dorothy Aumiller; brother-in-law, Darrell Eugene Aumiller, Jr.; dear friend, Slats; his beloved best buddy Titus (grand dog). Survived by his loving wife, Linda; four loving children, Trina (Matt Brown) Robino, Stephen (Michelle) Robino, Lynette (Chris) Cole and Johnny (Shari) Colistro; grandchildren, Christopher, and Amanda (Johnny Sandoval) Cole; Maddy, and Ronan Robino; great-grandchildren, Landyn Cole, Shaylee DeCesaro, Dradyn and Brooklyn Cole, Adryan, Rocky and Ahna Sandoval; nephew, Mike (Dianne) Robino; niece, Michelle (Dr. Rick) Kouri and Tom Krupp. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Rebecca (Ray) Baker-Schultz, Donna (Ed, deceased) Dall, Raymond (Mary Lou) Aumiller, and Russell (Linda) Aumiller; great nieces and nephews, Grant (Sara) Kouri, Nadia Kouri, Frannie (Ryan) Manning, Gabbie (Aaron) Rector, Jason Robino and Jeff (Emily) Robino; childhood friend, Eddie (Geri) Aguirre; many, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and so many friends you could never list them all. Skip had so many dear friends and adopted children who he loved as if they were his own. Later in life Skip welcomed three cats into his home, and they brought him great companionship, Mama Cat, Monkey and Coon. Skip loved to hunt, make knives, and cook for people. He was the light of the party and was a phenomenal cook. He opened his home to so many people and would give you the shirt off his back. He and Stephen traveled together to Mexico, South Africa, and he enjoyed time in Panama with Trina, Stephen, Maddy and Ronan. He and his brother Albert enjoyed trips to Arizona and his nephew Mike and brother Albert also traveled to South Africa. Skip loved to travel and made friends wherever he went. He was the biggest fan of Days of Our Lives and Family Guy. He enjoyed reading cookbooks, loved shopping and found himself buying items off late night tv. He always bought gifts for people and many times it was just because. Skip worked hard and played hard and found peace spending time in the mountains and in Laveta. He hosted holidays and birthdays; his home was a central gathering for these events, which never needed a knock on the door. He made amazing ribs, brisket, ham, turkey, and any kind of smoked meat. If you left his home hungry, it was your fault. It is impossible to sum up Skip’s life in an obituary because he led an extraordinary life with lots of love. He accomplished so much and left a legacy which will be treasured for years to come. He will be missed more than words could ever describe; the dinner table will never be the same. Viewing will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4-6 p.m., at Roselawn Funeral Home 1706 Roselawn Road, Pueblo, CO 81006. Burial 12 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at LaVeta Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the land he loved. Followed by Celebration of Skip’s Life at 2 p.m., 4-H Barn LaVeta, 401-499 Moore Ave, LaVeta, CO 81055.
