Donald M. Naccarato

Donald Myers Naccarato, 64, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and proud member of the Pueblo community, passed away on December 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 22, 1961, in Trinidad, Colorado, Don lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to his family. Don devoted more than 34 years to the Colorado State Patrol, retiring as Director of Communications. His service and commitment left a lasting impact on law enforcement professionals across the state. Among his many accomplishments, Don was especially proud of his longtime leadership of the annual Colorado State Patrol ‘Smokey’ Golf Tournament, which raised significant funds for the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation. Outside of work, Don could most often be found on the golf course, competing in weekly leagues or enjoying casual rounds with friends and family. A lifelong Colorado sports fan, he attended every Denver Broncos home game for more than 35 years and closely followed the Rockies, Avalanche, Buffs, and Nuggets. He frequently traveled across the country to attend games in person and was working toward a lifelong goal of visiting every Major League Baseball ballpark—only a few remained on his list. Don gave his time generously, volunteering throughout Pueblo with organizations including the Knights of Columbus, El Camino HOA, Sons of Italy, and St. John Neuman Catholic School. Don is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Julie (Jones) Naccarato, who cared for him devotedly throughout his cancer journey. He is also survived by his daughters, Rebecca Naccarato Eastburn and Sabrina Naccarato Kinmartin; sons-in-law, Evan Eastburn and Zachary Kinmartin; and his cherished granddaughter, Violet Eastburn. Don was one of three children and is survived by his older brothers, Frank (preceded in death by his wife, Elaine) Naccarato and Bill (Cindy) Naccarato. A true “girl dad,” Don loved and sacrificed for his daughters and granddaughter wholeheartedly and without hesitation. From coaching softball to helping with cross-country moves, or simply being a shoulder to cry on, Don relished being a father and grandfather and was deeply loved in return. Don also leaves behind a large Italian family spread throughout Colorado, New Mexico, and Mississippi. To his many friends, he was the person who always showed up, offered guidance, shared a laugh, and took care of those around him. He will be deeply missed. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ruth Naccarato; many aunts and uncles; and several childhood friends. A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Meadows Catholic Church, 23 Starling Drive, Pueblo, CO 81005. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation (https://www.cspff.net), a cause close to Don’s heart.
