Daniel Joseph Harris December 24, 1951 – June 6, 2026 Daniel Joseph Harris, 74, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home on June 6, 2026. Born on Christmas Eve 1951 in Trinidad, Colorado, Dan brought his own brand of holiday cheer into the world, Elaine probably wasn’t the happiest about this—and kept it going for the next seven decades with a smile that could light up any room and a laugh that was absolutely unmistakable. Dan graduated from East High School in Pueblo in 1969. Soon after, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Navy where he spent eight proud years aboard a nuclear weapons submarine. Both of his children, Ryan and Stacy, were born in Groton, Connecticut during his service years. After an honorable discharge, Dan made his way back to Pueblo, where he built a remarkable career at Comanche Power Plant. Starting as a dedicated worker, he went back to school at the University of Southern Colorado while raising his family and steadily worked his way up to Plant Supervisor over nearly 35 years. He was the definition of hardworking—whether on the job, in his yard, or helping anyone who needed a hand. Dan found his second great love, Lois Baldwin, in 2003. They shared many happy years together and were married on December 5, 2013. Dan and Lois were longtime members of the Eagles and enjoyed many good times at the Little Eagles with dear friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who treasured time with his family. Dan loved camping, hunting, and fishing, and he never missed a chance to make his grandchildren laugh. His great sense of humor and that unforgettable smile were gifts he shared freely with everyone around him. He is survived by: His loving wife, Lois June Harris; His son Ryan Harris and wife Melissa, along with their children Seth, Garrett, Christopher, and Avigail Harris; His daughter Stacy Todd and husband Brian Todd, along with her sons Jace and Kaiden Cloer; His sister Elaine Bacon; Nephews Joe Bacon and son Brendan, and Chad Bacon and wife Angie, along with their daughters Katelyn and Kelsee Bacon. He was preceded in death by: His parents, Edward Joseph Harris and Julia Mae Harris, and his brother-in-law Dennis Bacon. Dan lived a full life defined by hard work, quiet strength, deep love for his family, and plenty of laughter. Those who knew him will always remember that smile and the way his laugh could fill a room. He will be deeply missed. Always in our hearts but never forgotten. Funeral Services: A service will be held at Roselawn at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16th. There will be a celebration of life and luncheon to follow at St. Joseph’s Church.
